Technical Safety BC licence lookup.
Technical Safety BC licenses contractors for regulated work such as gas and electrical, and certifies individuals. It runs two public searches: Find a Licensed Contractor and Find a Certified Individual. Check a licence number's shape, then use the official tools.
Important, up front: Technical Safety BC's guide shows one licence number example (LGA1234567, a gas contractor licence) and does not publish a full list of formats. Other licence types may look different, so a mismatch is not proof a licence is wrong.

The two searches
Find a Licensed Contractor searches by company name or licence number. Technical Safety BC says to remove spaces or dashes from a licence number. Results show contact details, the scope of work the licence type allows, and any enforcement action taken since 2022. Only active licences appear in the public registry.
Find a Certified Individual searches by first and last name (last name is required), with optional drop-downs for technical system and certificate type.
Why gas work needs more than a trade certificate
Technical Safety BC says regulated gas work must be done by someone licensed by it, employed by a licensed contractor, or otherwise authorized. A gas fitter needs the appropriate certificate of qualification under the Gas Safety Regulation. A SkilledTradesBC trade certificate is a different record; see the SkilledTradesBC guide.
