OIQ member directory lookup.
The Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) publishes the Bottin des membres, its public member directory. This page explains where it is and what an OIQ seal shows. It does not search for you.
Short answer: the official place to check is the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec Bottin des membres. Open it, search by name or member number, and read the status on the record.
What the OIQ Bottin des membres covers
- The OIQ website links the directory as “Bottin des membres” and “Trouver un membre”. The search runs on the OIQ members site, at an address that is the French-language version.
- OIQ says an engineer’s physical seal must include their name, member number, title and the word “Québec”.
- OIQ describes authentication of an engineering document as a handwritten signature, a physical seal, or a digital signature, and says the digital seal image is added to digital documents the same way.
- A member number printed on a seal is a convenient thing to look for in the directory, but a seal image alone proves nothing: only the register confirms membership.
Check a registrant in Quebec
- Open the OIQ Bottin des membres using the button above.
- Search by the name (and member number if the document shows one).
- Compare the name and member number on the document’s seal with the record.
- If you cannot find the person, contact the OIQ through the contact page on oiq.qc.ca.
Why check Quebec engineer or geoscientist registration
People check the register before signing a contract with a consultant or contractor who advertises engineering or geoscience services, before relying on a stamped drawing or report, and when a firm says it holds a Certificate of Authorization or permit. Match the name, the member or licence number and the status to the document in front of you. Our P.Eng vs EIT and stamp guide explains why a title or stamp alone is not proof, and the province finder links every regulator we cover.

Guide only — not a verification tool
This page is a guide to a public register run by the regulator. It does not look up, scrape, store or transmit anyone’s details, and it cannot confirm a licence on its own. Only the regulator’s register, or the regulator itself, can tell you whether someone is currently licensed.
