Licensed Insolvency Trustee lookup guide.
Only a Licensed Insolvency Trustee can file a consumer proposal or bankruptcy. Check yours on the official OSB register. This page does not search it for you or confirm any licence.
Open the OSB active trustee search, enter the trustee's name or location and compare the office details with what they gave you. Inactive trustees are on the full list.

What the register is, and is not
The Office of the Superintendent of Bankruptcy keeps a public registry of Licensed Insolvency Trustees with their office contact details. The OSB's directory lists only trustees with an active administrative status; a separate full list covers active, semi-active and inactive trustees.
TNAADO does not run, copy or proxy that register, and a name appearing there is the OSB's record, not our endorsement. If a trustee does not appear, or the details do not match, contact the OSB before paying anyone.
Why use a trustee at all
Under the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act an administrator of a consumer proposal is a trustee or a person the Superintendent appoints or designates (s. 66.11), and a bankruptcy is administered by a trustee. The OSB states that Licensed Insolvency Trustees' fees for consumer insolvencies are regulated by the federal government.
Next steps
Once you have a trustee, compare your options with the consumer proposal vs bankruptcy calculator and bring the numbers to your first consultation.

Estimate only — not legal advice
Estimate only. This tool is not legal, financial or insolvency advice. A Licensed Insolvency Trustee decides the figures that apply to you.
