About TNAADO Tools

TNAADO Tools is a collection of free browser-based calculators, generators and converters. There is no sign-up, no paywall and no trial. Every tool on this site is usable immediately by anyone who lands on the page.

Who builds it

The site is built and maintained by Ethan Daley, founder of TNAADO Inc, a firm based in Toronto, Ontario. It is a side project of that firm rather than a product with a sales team behind it, which is why there is nothing to buy here.

Why the Canadian tools exist

Most calculators on the web assume American rules. That makes them quietly wrong north of the border: Canadian fixed-rate mortgages compound semi-annually rather than monthly, land transfer tax is provincial and Toronto charges a second municipal one on top, and registered accounts such as the RRSP, TFSA and FHSA have contribution mechanics with no US equivalent. The Canadian calculators here are written against those actual rules, and where a rule is a band or a threshold the page says what the bands are rather than hiding them inside the arithmetic.

How it is paid for

Advertising, through Google AdSense. That is the entire business model. It is also why the tools can stay free and account-free — you are not the product in the data sense, because there is no account to attach data to.

Accuracy, and its limits

These tools produce estimates. They are built carefully and the Canadian ones are written against published rules, but tax law, mortgage products and government thresholds change, and a calculator cannot know your circumstances. Nothing here is financial, tax or legal advice. For a decision that matters, confirm the number with a professional who is accountable for it.
