BCCNM nurse lookup.

Need to check whether a nurse is registered in British Columbia? BCCNM runs a public Nurse Verification search you can use by name or by Nurse ID. This guide explains the search and links you straight to it.

Use the official register for the answer: BCCNM’s Nurse Verification register is the place to check. This page does not look anyone up and cannot confirm registration or practice status.

How BCCNM identifies a nurse

BCCNM’s Nurse Verification page says it can be searched two ways: by Nurse Name or by Nurse ID. A last name alone is enough; a first or preferred name needs a last name with it, and you cannot search by first name only. An “exact match” box can be unchecked to broaden a last-name search.

The page says every current or former BCCNM registrant has a Nurse ID, and that applicants are not shown in Nurse Verification. BCCNM does not publish a format or check digit for the Nurse ID on that page, so a number that looks plausible tells you nothing by itself.

BCCNM’s page states that it makes “all reasonable efforts” to keep the displayed information accurate and links to its terms of website use. Read the record on the register itself; this guide does not reproduce it.

BCCNM: verification of licensure for another regulator or employer ↗

Why you would check a nurse’s registration in British Columbia

Employers, agencies and families usually check a nurse before hiring or accepting care. If you are an organization that needs a formal document rather than a look-up, BCCNM separately issues a verification of licensure that it sends directly to the receiving organization; the request is made by the nurse through their BCCNM account.

Frequently asked questions

What does a BCCNM Nurse ID look like?

BCCNM’s Nurse Verification page says every current or former registrant has a Nurse ID but does not publish its format. Treat any number as unverified until the register shows a matching record.

What can I search for in BCCNM Nurse Verification?

By nurse name (a last name alone works; a first or preferred name needs a last name) or by Nurse ID, including a multiple-ID option, according to the tool’s own page.

Why can’t I find an applicant?

BCCNM states that applicants and applicant information are not shown in Nurse Verification.

Can this page confirm a nurse is registered?

No. It does not query any register and sends nothing anywhere. Only BCCNM’s own tool can show the record.

Guide only — not a verification tool

This page is an independent guide that links to BCCNM’s official register. TNAADO is not affiliated with the regulator. It does not check anyone’s registration, implies no official verification, and nothing you might type here is transmitted anywhere. Use the official register to confirm a nurse is currently registered.
