What the 75-character title rule says

Amazon’s Seller Central announcement says that starting 27 July 2026, titles in all categories except media must be 75 characters or less including spaces. Amazon gives the reason as making sure a title fully displays on mobile. It also says titles still over 75 characters after that date will be updated to an AI recommendation gradually, and that listings stay active during the process.

This checker counts Unicode characters, so an accented letter or an emoji counts as one character, and every space counts too. It flags decorative characters, promotional wording, repeated words and ALL-CAPS words as items to review. Those are prompts, not a pass or fail from Amazon. Amazon says media is exempt from the 75-character limit but its announcement does not list which categories count as media, so tick the box only if you know yours does.

Official sources checked 18 October 2026: Amazon Seller Central announcement “Updates to improve your product titles begin on July 27” (News_Amazon, Seller Forums, updated 10 June 2026); Amazon staff summary of product title requirements (Seller Forums); and Amazon’s Product title requirements and guidelines for category and marketplace detail. Some third-party blogs give different details, such as enforcement timing, so this page follows Seller Central only. TNAADO is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Amazon. Guidance can change and can differ by category and marketplace, so confirm the final listing in Seller Central. Sources checked 18 October 2026.
