How capitalization is applied

Title case here means a capital letter on every word except short articles, conjunctions and prepositions (a, an, and, as, at, but, by, for, in, nor, of, on, or, the, to, up), which stay lowercase unless they open or close the title. Hyphenated words are capitalized on each part. Words with digits, mixed-case brands such as iPhone, and acronyms of up to three capitals such as USB or LED are left as typed.

Amazon’s announcement and staff summary that this site cites do not specify a capitalization format, so treat this as a common listing convention and not as an Amazon requirement. Category style guides can differ, so check yours. Capitalization never changes the length, but the tool reports the length so you can confirm the 75-character limit.

Official sources checked 18 October 2026: Amazon Seller Central announcement “Updates to improve your product titles begin on July 27” (News_Amazon, Seller Forums, updated 10 June 2026); Amazon staff summary of product title requirements (Seller Forums); and Amazon’s Product title requirements and guidelines for category and marketplace detail. Some third-party blogs give different details, such as enforcement timing, so this page follows Seller Central only. TNAADO is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Amazon. Guidance can change and can differ by category and marketplace, so confirm the final listing in Seller Central. Sources checked 18 October 2026.

Questions

Does Amazon require title case?

The Seller Central pages cited here do not state a capitalization format. Title case is a common convention, so check your category style guide.

Does title case change the character count?

No. Only letter case changes.

Why did it leave a word as typed?

Words containing digits, mixed-case brands and short all-caps acronyms are kept so a model number or brand is not damaged.

Should titles be all caps?

The tool flags long ALL-CAPS words as items to review in the title checker.

A drafting aid, not an Amazon approval

Length and character checks cannot predict whether Amazon accepts, rewrites or suppresses a listing. Verify the final copy in Seller Central.
