WooCommerce product CSV import check.
Paste or open your product CSV and see which rows the WooCommerce importer will reject or skip, before you import. The file never leaves your browser.
What is checked, and where each rule comes from
Rules were read from the official WooCommerce pages below on 2026-10-18. File: UTF-8, comma-separated, values with commas in double quotes. Columns: Name is the one column the documentation marks required; columns outside its list are flagged as notes because the importer only imports them if you map them (custom data uses the meta: prefix). Values: Type (simple, variable, grouped, external, variation, virtual, downloadable), Published (1, 0, -1, 2, true, false), 1/0 flags such as In stock? and Is featured?, Visibility in catalog, Tax status, Backorders allowed? (1, 0, notify), Stock (a number, parent, or blank), numeric weight and dimensions, Download limit and expiry (n/a or a number), attribute visible/global flags, and image entries as http(s) URLs or already-uploaded filenames. SKUs: duplicate SKUs are reported, as an error on variations because the documentation says each new variation needs a unique SKU. Where the documentation states no format (prices, dates) the finding is a note, not an error.

Frequently asked questions
What is the correct WooCommerce product CSV import format?
A UTF-8 comma-separated file with a header row. Only Name is marked required in the documentation. Common columns are ID, Type, SKU, Name, Published, Regular price, Categories, Images, Parent and numbered Attribute columns. This tool checks the values WooCommerce documents for each one.
Why were my rows skipped on import?
WooCommerce skips a row whose ID matches no existing product, and skips an ID or SKU match when Update existing products is not ticked. Those depend on your store, so this tool can only note an ID is present, not predict the skip.
Does a clean result mean the import will succeed?
No. It cannot see your store (existing products, categories, tax classes, image URLs). Use it to remove format mistakes first, then confirm with the importer's column mapping step.
Is my file uploaded?
No. Parsing happens in your browser tab; nothing is sent or stored.
Preflight only
Findings are based on WooCommerce's public documentation as of 2026-10-18. This tool does not log in to or contact WooCommerce, and cannot see your store or account. Always confirm in WooCommerce's own import preview.
