Notes
Narrow-screen preview
Illustrative only: one line cut with an ellipsis at the chosen width, in this page’s font. eBay’s real mobile layout, font and line wrapping are not published in the source below and can differ.
The rules this checks
- Title: maximum length 80 characters (Trading API argument
Item.Title). - Subtitle: maximum length 55 characters (
Item.SubTitle). A subtitle is an optional upgrade that eBay charges a fee for. - Counting choice: the guide does not define “character”. This tool counts Unicode code points and also shows the UTF-16 count. Confirm near-limit text in eBay’s own listing form.
- Notes are hints, not scores: repeated words (3+ letters) and ALL-CAPS words (3+ letters) are flagged as things to review. This tool makes no claim that any wording improves search ranking or sales.
