Worked example

US seller, $40 item, $6 shipping charged, no tax. Processing: 3.3% x $46 + $0.45 = $1.97 (4.28% of the order). You receive $46 - $1.97 = $44.03. Profit: $44.03 - $10 - $1 - $6 = $27.03. If the sale was a Boosted Listing sold with a Depop label, the 12% boosting fee on the $40 adds $4.80 and profit falls to $22.23. To make $20 profit unboosted, list at $32.73.

How it works

Depop's Seller fees and charges page says no Depop selling fees are charged to sellers based in the UK, US or Australia, and lists payment processing for Depop Payments (via Stripe) of 3.3% + $0.45 in the US, 2.9% + 0.30 GBP in the UK and 2.6% + 0.30 AUD in Australia. The processing fee is charged on the item sale price plus shipping costs and any applicable taxes.

Outside the UK, US and Australia the page lists a 10% selling fee on the item sale price (excluding taxes) and, if you have not used a Depop Shipping label, the shipping cost, plus PayPal's own processing fee, which varies by location and account. Pick that option and type your PayPal percent and fixed fee in the processing fields; they start at 0.

Boosted Listings. The page lists a boosting fee of 12% for sellers in the UK and US (new listings from 23 March 2026) and 8% for sellers outside them, charged on the item sale price (excluding taxes) and, without a Depop Shipping label, the shipping cost, only for the sales you mark as boosted.

Profit = item price + shipping charged - fees - item cost - supplies - postage you pay. Buyer sales tax is treated as collected and passed on, so it raises the processing base but is not your revenue. Reverse mode finds the lowest price, in whole cents, that reaches your target profit.

Limits

Depop can change its fees; the page used here carries a note that the 12% boosting fee applies to new listings from 23 March 2026. Buyers also pay a marketplace fee: Depop's newsroom said in July 2024 it would be up to 5% of the item price plus up to $1, which affects how much a buyer is willing to pay but is not deducted from you. Sellers in Canada fall in the "outside UK, US and Australia" group on the fee page; confirm your own account's fees in the Depop app. Not tax or financial advice.

Sources, opened 8 October 2026: Seller fees and charges (Depop Help Centre) (processing fees by country, 10% selling fee outside UK, US and Australia, boosting fee); Depop removes selling fees in the United States, evolves fee structure (Depop newsroom, 15 July 2024) (buyer marketplace fee of up to 5% plus up to $1). TNAADO is not affiliated with any marketplace named here. Everything runs in your browser. Nothing you type is sent or stored.

FAQ

Does Depop charge a selling fee?

Not in the US, UK or Australia: Depop's fee page says no selling fees are charged to sellers based there. You still pay payment processing: 3.3% + $0.45 in the US, 2.9% + 0.30 GBP in the UK and 2.6% + 0.30 AUD in Australia. Sellers elsewhere pay a 10% selling fee plus PayPal's fee.

What is Depop's fee in Canada?

Canada is outside the UK, US and Australia group on Depop's fee page, which lists a 10% selling fee on the item price (and shipping if you did not use a Depop label) plus PayPal's payment processing fee. Choose the "outside UK, US and Australia" option and enter your PayPal rate. Confirm in the app, since account setup can differ.

What does the Depop processing fee apply to?

The item sale price plus shipping costs and any applicable taxes. That is why a $40 item with $6 shipping at 3.3% + $0.45 costs $1.97 rather than the $1.77 you would get from the item price alone.

How much is the Depop boosting fee?

12% for sellers in the UK and US and 8% for sellers outside them, charged only when a boosted item sells, on the item price and, without a Depop shipping label, the shipping cost.

Is the UK different from the US?

Only in the processing fee: 2.9% + 0.30 GBP instead of 3.3% + $0.45. On the same numbers in pounds the fees are £1.63.
