Resale marketplaces
Resale platform fee comparison.
Same item, seven platforms: fees, what you receive and profit, ranked. Rates are editable and everything runs in your browser.
On a $40 item with $6 shipping charged, $10 item cost, $1 supplies and $6 postage, default US fees leave you Vinted $29.00, Depop $27.03, Grailed $24.71, Mercari $24.40, Facebook Marketplace $24.40, Etsy $24.18, Poshmark $21.00 profit. The fee is only part of the story: platforms differ on buyer fees, shipping rules and audience.

How it works
Same item, each platform's own fee rule. The tool runs the item through the fee rules used by the single-platform calculators: Poshmark $2.95 under $15 and 20% above; Mercari 10% of item plus shipping; Depop 3.3% + $0.45 processing with no selling fee; Vinted no seller fee; Facebook Marketplace 10% of order with a $0.80 minimum; Etsy $0.20 + 6.5% + 3% + $0.25; Grailed 6% (min $1.99) or 9% plus Stripe 3.49% + $0.49. Open any platform's own calculator to change its rates or test a country.
Shipping. Mercari, Depop, Facebook Marketplace, Etsy and Grailed charge fees on, or count, the shipping you charge. Poshmark and Vinted are modelled with shipping outside the fee base, so the shipping you charge offsets what you pay. Check your own orders, since each platform handles labels differently.
Profit = price + shipping charged - fees - item cost - supplies - postage you pay. No sales tax is assumed and buyers' own fees are shown in the last column, not deducted.
Limits
Lowest fee is not the same as best platform. Buyers on Mercari pay 3.6% on top, Vinted buyers usually pay 5% + $0.70, and Depop buyers pay a marketplace fee, so the same listed price can feel different to a buyer. Sell-through speed, audience and category fit usually matter more than a few dollars of fees. eBay fees vary by category and are covered by the eBay fee calculator, and Whatnot has its own calculator. Rates change; this is an estimate, not tax or financial advice.

FAQ
Which resale platform has the lowest fees?
On the example item, Vinted leaves the most profit at $29.00 and Poshmark the least at $21.00. The order changes with price, shipping and costs, so enter your own numbers.
Why does the order change with price?
Fees are structured differently: Poshmark is a flat $2.95 below $15, Facebook Marketplace has a $0.80 minimum, Etsy adds fixed fees, and Grailed's rate steps down below $120. Percent-only fees, like Mercari's 10%, scale evenly.
Are buyer fees included?
They are shown in the Buyer pays column but not deducted from your profit. Mercari's fee page says buyers pay 3.6%, Vinted's help page says its buyer fee is usually 5% + $0.70, and Depop's newsroom said buyers pay a marketplace fee of up to 5% plus up to $1.
Where are eBay and Whatnot?
eBay fees depend on category and seller status and Whatnot on category and sales tier, so each has its own calculator, linked below. They are not part of this ranking.
