Verify teacher certification in Canada.
Teaching certification is provincial. Five provinces publish a public register; the rest publish less or nothing. Find your province below and go to the official source.
Short answer: Ontario, British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba publish a public register you can search by name. Quebec, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Newfoundland and Labrador do not describe an equivalent on the official pages we reviewed.

Official registers
What a register can and cannot tell you
A register shows certificate status and, in several provinces, conditions or discipline. It does not replace reference checks, a criminal record or vulnerable sector check, or an employer’s own hiring process. Names may differ between records, so search legal and former names.

Frequently asked questions
How do I verify teacher certification in Canada?
Use the register of the province that certified the teacher. Ontario, BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba each publish one.
Is there one national teacher register?
None of the sources reviewed describes one; certification is provincial.
Where is the Ontario teacher register?
It is the Ontario College of Teachers’ Find a Teacher public register.
What if the province has no public lookup?
Contact the provincial certification office, or ask the teacher for a statement of professional standing from the issuing authority.
Guide only — not a verification service
This page is an independent guide to official registers. It does not check anyone’s certification, does not query or copy any register, and nothing you might type here is transmitted anywhere (there is no form on this page). Registers differ in scope and update speed, so treat the official register’s result, or a written statement from the issuing authority, as the answer. Not legal or employment advice.
