Alberta teacher certification lookup.
Alberta publishes an online Teacher and Teacher Leader Registry. Filter by name and certificate type to see standing, certificate status and issue dates.
Short answer: Use the Alberta Teacher and Teacher Leader Registry; a separate Discipline Search covers professional discipline outcomes.
What the Alberta registry shows
Alberta says the registry supports student safety by improving accountability and transparency. Per the government’s page it lists the professional standing of Alberta certificated teachers and teacher leaders dating back to 1954, all legal names known to the Registrar, certificate issue or reissue dates, certificate type and certificate status.
It also lists hearing committee, appeal committee and minister’s decisions from 1990 onward where a certificate was suspended or cancelled, disciplinary decisions effective January 1, 2023 with a finding of unprofessional conduct or professional incompetence, and consent resolution agreements. Information tied to a pending exemption application does not appear while the application is under review.
Search the Alberta registry
The search page offers filters for First Name, Last Name, a date range, and Certificate Type (Teaching, Leadership or Superintendent Certificate), with a separate Discipline Search link.
Using the result
Check the certificate type and current status, and compare names against any other legal names listed. Alberta’s certification page also refers to Statements of Standing sent directly to the Registrar, which is a separate process from this public search. For questions the Office of the Registrar is listed at 780-427-2045.

Standing back to 1954, legal names known to the Registrar, certificate issue dates, type and status, plus certain decisions and consent resolution agreements as described by the Government of Alberta.

Guide only — not a verification service
This page is an independent guide to official registers. It does not check anyone’s certification, does not query or copy any register, and nothing you might type here is transmitted anywhere (there is no form on this page). Registers differ in scope and update speed, so treat the official register’s result, or a written statement from the issuing authority, as the answer. Not legal or employment advice.
