Which dates are published and which are not

These five provinces do not run on one calendar and they do not publish on one timetable. As of October 20, 2026, British Columbia has posted every payment date for 2027. Manitoba has posted January to April 2027. Alberta has posted only the January 2027 period. Ontario's ODSP page and Retraite Québec's QPP page have posted nothing for 2027 yet. For those programs the pages linked here apply each program's own stated rule to the 2027 calendar, test it against that program's 2026 dates, and mark every such date "expected". Ontario Works is in the status table below because it is the Ontario program people compare with ODSP, but it has no 2027 dates to show.

How to read the calendar

The calendar above is organized by the month the payment is issued, which is not always the month it pays for. BC, Alberta and Manitoba pay ahead: BC's payment for April 2027 is issued on Wednesday, March 24, 2027, Alberta's April period is expected on Thursday, March 25, 2027, and Manitoba's April 2027 benefit is deposited on Thursday, March 25, 2027. ODSP and the QPP pay within the month: the ODSP benefit month and payment month are the same, so the April 2027 payment is expected on Friday, April 30, 2027. Reading across a row therefore tells you which payments arrive in that calendar month, and reading down a column tells you how one program's dates move.

The January row shows how far apart the programs sit. BC pays on Wednesday, January 20, 2027, Alberta on Tuesday, January 26, 2027, Manitoba on Wednesday, January 27, 2027, and ODSP and the QPP on Friday, January 29, 2027 and Friday, January 29, 2027. Nine days separate the earliest from the latest. For a household that receives support from more than one source, the month-end programs and the mid-month programs fill different weeks.

Worked example (hypothetical)

Suppose a person plans to move from Ontario to Alberta in the spring of 2027 and wants to know when income support lands on either side of the move. In Ontario, the expected ODSP payment for March 2027 is Wednesday, March 31, 2027. In Alberta, the period of assistance for April is expected on Thursday, March 25, 2027, six days before the ODSP date and for the following month. Anyone who moved between programs would see an April payment arrive in Alberta in March, while an Ontario recipient would not see April's benefit until Friday, April 30, 2027. This person is invented. The point is that the same calendar month can contain one program's payment for the month ahead and another's for the current month.

FAQ

Where can I see 2027 provincial assistance payment dates in one place?

The calendar above lists the 2027 payment date for BC income and disability assistance, Ontario ODSP, Alberta AISH, ADAP and Income Support, Manitoba EIA and the Québec Pension Plan, by the month each is paid.

Which provinces have actually published their 2027 dates?

As of October 20, 2026, BC has published all of 2027, Manitoba has published January to April 2027, and Alberta has published only the January 2027 period. Ontario (ODSP) and Retraite Québec (QPP) had not published 2027 dates.

What does "expected" mean in the calendar?

It means we applied the program's own published rule to the 2027 calendar, after testing the rule on that program's published 2026 dates. It is not an announcement from the province.

Why do some payments arrive in the month before the one they cover?

BC, Alberta, Manitoba and Ontario Works issue each payment ahead of the month it covers. ODSP and the QPP pay within the month. The calendar is organized by the month the payment is issued.

Is Ontario Works included?

Not in the calendar. Ontario published a table for the December 2025 to December 2026 benefit months only. See the Ontario Works payment dates page for it.

Are federal benefits on these pages?

No. CPP, OAS, GIS, the Canada Child Benefit and the Canada Disability Benefit have separate federal calendars, linked from the Canada benefit payment dates page.

Does the calendar include cheque dates?

Only Manitoba publishes separate cheque dates in its table, and those are on the Manitoba page. Alberta states a six-business-day rule for cheques. The calendar shows deposit or issue dates.

How often are these pages checked?

The dates were read from the official pages on October 20, 2026. A province can change a date or post a new table at any time, so confirm on the official page before a payment that matters.
