These 2027 dates are worked out, not published
Ontario's ODSP page lists payment dates from the December 2025 benefit to the December 2026 benefit, and it shows the December 2026 date as "TBC". It publishes nothing for 2027 yet. What it does publish is a rule: "Payments are on the last business day of each month. December payments may be available earlier in the month." The dates in the table above apply that rule to the 2027 calendar. They are labelled expected for that reason, and when Ontario posts a 2027 table it replaces ours.
We tested the rule before using it. Applying "last business day of the month" to January through November 2026 reproduces ten of the eleven dates on ontario.ca directly, including January 30 (January 31 was a Saturday), May 29 (May 31 was a Sunday) and October 30 (October 31 was a Saturday). The eleventh, September, fits once September 30 is treated as a non-business day, as explained below. The rule fails only in December, where Ontario paid the December 2025 benefit on December 22, 2025 rather than on the last business day of the month.
Worked example
July 2027 ends on a Saturday, July 31. The last business day is therefore Friday, July 30, 2027. October 2027 ends on a Sunday, so the expected date is Friday, October 29, 2027. Compare 2026, where October 31 was a Saturday and Ontario paid on Friday, October 30, 2026. The pattern repeats one day earlier because the calendar shifts by one weekday each year.
September is the one place the plain rule needed an adjustment. In 2026, September 30 was a Wednesday, yet Ontario paid the September benefit on Tuesday, September 29. September 30 is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, a federal statutory holiday, so we treat it as a non-business day. On that reading September 30, 2027 (a Thursday) is skipped and the expected date is Wednesday, September 29, 2027. This one is an inference from a single year, not a stated rule, so it is the date to confirm first.
Why December is not filled in
For December 2025 the ontario.ca table shows a payment on December 22, 2025, nine days before the last business day, and the page says December payments "may be available earlier in the month". The December 2026 date was still "TBC" when we read the page. Because December has broken the rule in the one year we can see, we do not give a December 2027 date. Check ontario.ca in the autumn, and do not plan on December 31.
How ODSP differs from Ontario Works
ODSP pays within the month it covers: the January 2026 benefit was paid on January 30, 2026. Ontario Works pays a month ahead, on the last business day of the previous month, so the February 2026 benefit was paid on January 30, 2026. Someone who receives both kinds of support in a household, or who moves between programs, should check which row they are reading. Our Ontario Works payment dates page keeps that schedule, and the ODSP and Ontario Works earnings calculator estimates how earnings change a payment.
What this page does not cover
- Your amount. Ontario.ca says a single person could receive up to $1,436 a month for basic needs and shelter, reflecting a 1.9 per cent increase on July 1, 2026. Your amount depends on your situation and is outside this page.
- Whether a payment was issued. Only your caseworker or MyBenefits can confirm that. This page cannot see your file.
- When the money appears. The date is when ODSP issues the payment. Your bank sets the posting time.
- Ontario Works, CPP-D and the Canada Disability Benefit. These have their own calendars, linked from the provincial payment dates hub.
- Dates ontario.ca later changes. If Ontario posts a different date from the one we worked out, the Ontario date is correct.
FAQ
When is ODSP paid in 2027?
Ontario states that ODSP payments are on the last business day of each month, and that December payments may be available earlier. Applying that to 2027 gives the dates in the table, from January 29 to November 30. These are worked out, not yet published.
Has Ontario published the 2027 ODSP payment dates?
Not when we checked on October 20, 2026. The ontario.ca page lists benefit months through December 2026 and shows December 2026 as TBC.
When is the ODSP payment for January 2027?
Expected on Friday, January 29, 2027. January 31, 2027 is a Sunday, so the last business day of the month is the Friday before.
Why is September 2027 expected on September 29?
In 2026 Ontario paid the September benefit on September 29 even though September 30 was a Wednesday. September 30 is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, so we assume it is skipped again. That is an inference from one year and is the date most worth confirming.
What about the December 2027 ODSP payment?
No date is given. Ontario paid the December 2025 benefit on December 22, 2025, earlier than the last business day, and says December payments may be available earlier in the month. Check ontario.ca before December.
Is ODSP paid at the same time as Ontario Works?
No. ODSP pays within the month it covers, while Ontario Works pays on the last business day of the month before the benefit month. The February 2026 Ontario Works benefit was paid January 30, 2026, for example.
Does this tell me how much ODSP I will get?
No. It shows dates only. Ontario.ca says a single person could receive up to $1,436 a month for basic needs and shelter, and your own amount depends on your situation.
How often should I check the official page?
Before any month where the date matters. The ontario.ca page was last updated on September 23, 2026, and Ontario can post a 2027 table at any time.
