Worked example
A GMAT Focus total of 645 has a percentile ranking of 86.7 in GMAC's July 2025 table. 635 is at 81.9 and 655 is at 90.5, so each 10-point step near 645 moves the ranking by about 4 to 5 points.
How it works
GMAC's concordance table lists each GMAT Focus total score with a percentile ranking to the nearest tenth, based on exams taken between July 1, 2020 and June 30, 2025. GMAC explains a percentile ranking as the percentage of test takers a candidate performed better than. The tool copies the value for your total. The table notes that GMAC may update the percentiles each year in the third quarter.
GMAC says the Total Score uses the Quantitative Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning and Data Insights sections, each scored 60 to 90 and equally weighted. This tool does not estimate a total from section scores, so it starts from the total on your score report.

FAQ
What percentile is a 645 on the GMAT Focus?
GMAC lists a total score of 645 at a percentile ranking of 86.7 in its July 2025 table.
Why do GMAT Focus scores always end in 5?
Every total score in GMAC's Focus Edition table ends in 5 (205, 215, and so on up to 805), so the tool only accepts totals from 205 to 805 that end in 5.
What does a GMAT percentile ranking mean?
GMAC says it shows what percentage of test takers a candidate performed better than. A ranking of 75 percent means the candidate performed better than 75 percent of test takers.
Can I enter my section scores instead?
No. GMAC says the three sections are equally weighted toward the Total Score, but this tool does not estimate a total from section scores, so it needs the total from your score report.
