Worked example

Section scores of 127, 126, 128 and 127 add to a total of 508, which AAMC lists at percentile rank 74. The sections rank 77 (Chemical and Physical, 127), 74 (Critical Analysis, 126), 84 (Biological and Biochemical, 128) and 65 (Psychological and Social, 127).

How it works

AAMC says it adds the scaled scores of the four sections, each 118 to 132, to get a total from 472 to 528. This tool does the same addition, then copies the percentile rank from AAMC's table. The rank is the percentage of scores equal to or less than yours, based on all results from the 2022, 2023 and 2024 testing years, in effect from May 1, 2026 to April 30, 2027. A rank below 1 is shown as <1.

AAMC updates the percentile ranks each May 1, so the table this tool uses may be one cycle behind. This tool starts from the section scores on your score report and does not convert correct answers into scaled scores.
