CPA Quebec (OCPAQ) lookup.

The Ordre des comptables professionnels agréés du Québec (OCPAQ) has two different tools: a membership roll for checking a person, and a CPA directory for hiring one. Only the first is for verification.

Use the official register for the answer: The Ordre’s own page says the directory is not the source for verifying authorization; use the membership roll. This page cannot confirm anyone’s status. It cannot confirm anyone’s status.

What the register covers

  • Membership roll (Tableau de l’Ordre) — public information about a specific person entered on the Order’s roll, used to check whether they are authorized to practise as a CPA.
  • CPA Directory (Bottin des CPA) — for finding a CPA for your business or personal finances. It lists only CPAs who offer services to third parties and have chosen to display their contact details.
  • Not a verifier — because the directory is opt-in, not being in it says nothing about whether someone is a CPA.

Directories are the regulator’s own and can lag; being listed does not by itself guarantee good standing. Contact the regulator to confirm status.

Roll or directory?

If you already have a name and want to know whether the person is a CPA, use the membership roll. If you are looking for someone to hire, use the CPA Directory and then check the person on the roll. The Order’s site also refers to a CPA auditor designation and an auditor permit, so ask which applies when you need audit or review work.

French and English

The Order’s site is available in French and English. Names with accents may need to be searched with and without them.

Frequently asked questions

How do I check whether someone is a CPA in Quebec?

Use the Order’s membership roll (Tableau de l’Ordre) on cpaquebec.ca.

What is the difference between the roll and the CPA Directory?

The roll lists everyone entered on the Order’s roll. The CPA Directory lists only CPAs who offer services to third parties and agreed to appear, so it is for finding a CPA, not verifying one.

Why is my accountant missing from the CPA Directory?

The directory is opt-in. Check the membership roll instead before concluding anything.

What about audit or review work in Quebec?

The Order’s site refers to a CPA auditor designation and an auditor permit. Ask your accountant which applies and confirm it with the Order before relying on assurance work.

Guide only — not a verification tool

This page describes the register and links to it. It does not check anyone’s membership, it does not copy or proxy any register data, and nothing you might type here is transmitted anywhere. Use the official register to confirm status. Not legal or professional advice.
