Engineers Nova Scotia directory lookup.

Engineers Nova Scotia keeps the Member and Company Directory for the province. This page explains how to use it, including the stamp-number check, and links you to it. It does not search for you.

Short answer: the official place to check is the Engineers Nova Scotia Member and Company Directory. Open it, search by name or member number, and read the status on the record.

What the ENS Member and Company Directory covers

  • Engineers Nova Scotia says a member’s or company’s registration status displays in real time in the directory.
  • You can search Members or Companies, by name or Member Number. Leaving the keywords blank and pressing Find returns a full list for that type.
  • To verify an engineer from their stamp, the directory tells you to enter the number from the stamp into the Member Number field.
  • If no result comes back, or the name shown differs from the name on the stamp, Engineers Nova Scotia asks you to contact it immediately (listed on its directory page).
  • Subpages cover Limited Engineering Licence scopes of practice, Suspended and Restricted Registrants, and Public Notices.

Why check Nova Scotia engineer or geoscientist registration

People check the register before signing a contract with a consultant or contractor who advertises engineering or geoscience services, before relying on a stamped drawing or report, and when a firm says it holds a Certificate of Authorization or permit. Match the name, the member or licence number and the status to the document in front of you. Our P.Eng vs EIT and stamp guide explains why a title or stamp alone is not proof, and the province finder links every regulator we cover.

Guide only — not a verification tool

This page is a guide to a public register run by the regulator. It does not look up, scrape, store or transmit anyone’s details, and it cannot confirm a licence on its own. Only the regulator’s register, or the regulator itself, can tell you whether someone is currently licensed.
