FSRA mortgage broker licence lookup.

FSRA (the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario) licenses mortgage brokerages, administrators, brokers and agents and links a public registry of licensees. This page explains the registry and sends you to it.

Short answer: use FSRA’s registry of licensed mortgage brokerages, administrators, agents and brokers; search by licence number, last name or city. This page checks nothing itself.

What the FSRA registry lists

The registry page states that FSRA issues licences for mortgage brokerages, mortgage administrators, mortgage brokers, and mortgage agents Level 1 and Level 2, and that new licensing classes took effect on 1 April 2023. You can choose Agent or Broker, Mortgage Brokerage, or Mortgage Administrator, then search by licence number, agent/broker last name or city/town, or list all.

Per the same page, an agent or broker licence is issued for a one-year term, and acting as a mortgage agent or broker without a licence is an offence under the Mortgage Brokerages, Lenders and Administrators Act, 2006. The page invites you to email FSRA to report errors or anyone claiming to be a licensee who is not listed.

Open the FSRA registry

FSRA’s site links its “Public registry of licensees” to a search hosted at mbsweblist.fsco.gov.on.ca, a legacy FSCO address that the page itself labels as FSRA’s. FSRA’s own pages block automated retrieval, so this link is taken from FSRA’s published navigation; if it ever fails, start from fsrao.ca.

When to check an Ontario mortgage licence

Typical reasons: before sharing income documents with a broker, when a private lender or agent approaches you, or to confirm which brokerage an agent works under.

Condo managers are separate

Condominium managers in Ontario are licensed by a different body, CMRAO, which has its own public registry. See the related CMRAO page.

Guide only — not a verification tool

This page describes the official register and links to it. It does not check anyone’s licence status, does not copy or proxy the register, and nothing you might type here is transmitted anywhere. Registers change; use the official source linked above and contact the regulator to confirm anything that matters.
