FSRA pension plan lookup guide.

FSRA regulates employer-sponsored pension plans registered in Ontario and offers a public search. This guide explains what it covers and when it will not help.

Short answer: use FSRA's Pension Plan Information Access and search by plan registration number, plan name or sponsor name. It does not include every plan, so contact the plan administrator if you cannot find yours.

What the search covers

Per FSRA, you can search by plan registration number, plan name or sponsor name. It covers active plans, plans pending registration and plans winding up. A listing shows the registration number, plan name, the sponsor, administrator or custodian and address, effective date, fiscal year end, plan and benefit types, active membership count and some filing information.

Individual pension plans and plans with fewer than five members are not included, and confidential member information is not available.

When the search does not find your plan

FSRA says the listing does not include all plans registered with it. For details beyond the listing, FSRA suggests contacting the plan administrator. Your plan statement or your employer's HR team should name the administrator and may show the plan registration number.
