New Brunswick · Real Estate & Mortgage Licensing
New Brunswick licence check for realtors and mortgage brokers.
The Financial and Consumer Services Commission (FCNB) licenses real estate agents, salespeople and managers and mortgage brokers in New Brunswick, and publishes four public licence checks. This page maps them.
Short answer: pick the check that matches the person: real estate salesperson or manager, real estate agent, mortgage broker or associate, or mortgage brokerage or administrator. This page itself checks nothing.
What FCNB licenses
FCNB says real estate agents, managers and salespeople operating in New Brunswick must be licensed with the Commission and be members of the New Brunswick Real Estate Association (NBREA), with three licence types: agent, salesperson and manager. For mortgages, FCNB says an individual or business brokering or administering mortgages must be licensed (unless an exemption applies), with four types: mortgage brokerage, associate, broker and administrator.
FCNB adds that it does not matter whether the person lives in New Brunswick: anyone doing business in the province, in person, in writing, online or by phone, must be licensed.

When to check a New Brunswick licence
Typical reasons: before signing with a realtor, before giving personal financial information to a mortgage broker, or when an out-of-province person is offering services in New Brunswick.
What a licence does and does not mean
FCNB notes that being licensed does not mean every firm or individual has the same skills, offers the same services or charges the same fees, so ask about qualifications and fees too.

Guide only — not a verification tool
This page describes the official register and links to it. It does not check anyone’s licence status, does not copy or proxy the register, and nothing you might type here is transmitted anywhere. Registers change; use the official source linked above and contact the regulator to confirm anything that matters.
