Formula: referral fee = the greater of (category percentage x total sales price) and the applicable per-item minimum. The total price includes item price, shipping and gift wrap. Tiered categories (for example Furniture, Jewelry, Watches) charge the second rate only on the portion above the limit; threshold categories (for example Baby, Beauty, Clothing) charge one rate on the whole price.
Boundary: Amazon.ca words some limits as "or less" and the Clothing and Accessories limit as "less than CAD 20" versus "equal to or greater than CAD 20"; the tool follows that wording exactly.
Tax: the Amazon.ca page does not say whether the base includes GST/HST, so no tax adjustment is applied.
