Method and sources
Formula: monthly storage per unit = packaged volume x monthly rate for the size class and season. Canada and Australia are billed per cubic metre per month; the UK per cubic foot per month (1 ft3 = 0.028316846592 m3). Amazon bills on daily average volume, so this is an estimate for steady stock.
Seasons: January to September versus October to December rates differ in all three marketplaces.
Australia aged stock: the page lists surcharges at the 15th of the month for stock held 271-300, 301-330, 331-365 and 366+ days, the last being the greater of $370 per cubic metre or $0.12 per unit. Canada and the UK also have aged and utilisation charges whose amounts are not on the pricing page, so they are not modelled.

FAQ
How are Amazon FBA storage fees measured?
On the daily average volume your inventory occupies, based on unit size when properly packaged and ready to ship. Canada and Australia use cubic metres; the UK uses cubic feet.
When is the peak storage rate charged?
October to December in all three marketplaces, at a higher rate than January to September.
Why are UK dangerous goods different?
The UK page lists separate monthly rates for dangerous goods (hazmat) in standard and oversize classes, so the tool offers them as classes.
