How to text to decimal by hand
Every character in a text has a code number; for plain English letters, digits and punctuation that number is its ASCII code (A is 65, a is 97, 0 is 48, space is 32). This tool lists the number for each byte in order.
Text is encoded as UTF-8, so a character outside ASCII yields two to four numbers: é is 195 169 and the euro sign is 226 130 172. Those are the bytes, not the Unicode code point (which is 233 and 8364).

Text to decimal FAQ
How do I convert text to decimal?
Look up each character’s code. H is 72, e is 101, l is 108, l is 108, o is 111.
What is the ASCII code for A?
65. Lower case a is 97, and the digit 0 is 48.
Why do I get two numbers for one character?
Characters outside ASCII are encoded as multiple UTF-8 bytes. é is 195 169.
Are these Unicode code points?
No. They are UTF-8 byte values. For ASCII characters the two are identical (A is 65 either way); for others the code point is a different, larger number.
Can I get comma-separated output?
Yes. Choose comma, space or no separator.
