What this finds

Identifiers are compared after trimming and collapsing whitespace, so BLUE-S and blue-s collide. When a product handle and option columns are present, the tool also checks duplicate option combinations within the same product. It does not decide whether a SKU is globally unique across your business, whether a barcode was issued to you, or whether a marketplace accepts a particular identifier.

Sources: Shopify product CSV Help describes handles, variants and barcode fields; GS1 identification standards explain that GTINs identify trade items. These are format and collision checks, not marketplace certification.

Frequently asked questions

Does a clean report mean the import will work?

No. It cannot see existing records in your store, inventory locations, or marketplace-specific rules. Use the platform’s own import preview.

Is the file uploaded?

No. Parsing and report generation happen locally in this browser tab.

Collision check only

A pass is not proof that an identifier is authentic, registered to you, or accepted by any marketplace.
