- Title: Walmart’s product details policy asks for brief titles not exceeding 150 characters. Walmart’s keyword guidance separately flags titles of more than 200 characters as excessively long.
- Key features: using more than 80 characters (spaces included) per key feature is listed as a prohibited practice. Walmart recommends three to 10 of the most important benefits and features, most important first, and prohibits special characters used as bullet points.
- Description: one paragraph with a minimum of 150 words; bullet points and numbered lists are prohibited in descriptions, and word count requirements vary by category.
- Category limits: the item spec for your product type can set its own maximum length for each field. Walmart’s developer documentation says the Get Spec API returns a JSON Schema with constraints such as maxLength, so confirm there before bulk uploads.
