Geometry is a starting point, not a printer approval
KDP’s published guidance uses 0.125 in (3.2 mm) bleed on the top, bottom, and outside edges of a paperback cover. KDP also says borders should sit at least 0.25 in (6.4 mm) inside the trim line. Commercial printers vary, so the commercial preset is only a transparent starting point.
