How the estimate works
KDP’s published paperback formula uses the page-count multiplier for the selected paper, then adds 0.125 inches of bleed to both outside edges and to the top and bottom. This gives the full wrap: back cover + spine + front cover.
Important: KDP says spine text is only printed for books over 79 pages, and recommends cover files of 40 MB or less; files over 650 MB will not convert. Confirm the final template in KDP before upload.
