Worked example

A $420 install worn for 7 weeks is $60 a week, or $260 a month (x 52 / 12). With 2 rest weeks the cycle is 9 weeks, so you fit 5.78 installs a year, $2,426.67 a year, and spread over the whole 9-week cycle that is $46.67 a week.

How it works

cost per week = cost / weeks worn. cost per month = cost per week x 52 / 12. Cycle length = weeks worn + rest weeks; installs per year = 52 / cycle; cost per year = cost x installs per year; cost per week over the cycle = cost / cycle length.

The page flags more than 8 weeks as beyond the usual range quoted in the guides and more than 12 weeks as longer than the limit reported below. How long a style can safely stay in depends on your hair, scalp and installer.
