Worked example
A $25 walk, five a week for 52 weeks (260 walks) with a 10% tip: each walk costs 25 × 1.10 = $27.50, so $137.50 a week and $7,150 a year, or $595.83 a month. A package of 10 walks for $200 is $20 a walk, or $22 with the tip, which saves 5.50 × 260 = $1,430 a year.
How it works
Cost per walk = (price + extra-dog fee × extra dogs) × (1 + tip %). Weekly = per walk × walks per week; yearly = weekly × weeks of service; monthly = yearly ÷ 12. For a package, the base walk price becomes package price ÷ walks in the package, and the same extra-dog fee and tip apply.
This tool has no local rates; use your walker’s price list. Compare what is included (length of walk, group or solo, cancellation terms) because a cheaper walk may be shorter or in a group. A package saves money only if you use all the walks and the walker’s expiry rules suit your schedule.

FAQ
How much does a dog walker cost per month?
Multiply the cost per walk by walks per week and by about 4.33 weeks. The calculator does it using your weeks of service, and divides the year by 12.
How do I work out cost per walk?
Add the price and any extra-dog fee, then add your tip. A package price is divided by the number of walks in it.
Is a package cheaper?
It can be, if you use every walk. Enter the package price and walk count to compare it with paying for single walks.
How many weeks should I enter?
Enter the weeks per year you will actually use the walker. Fewer if you are home or travelling.
Does the tip apply to the package?
Yes, the tip percentage is applied to whichever base price you are comparing.
