Worked example
Full set $200, fill $75, a fill every 3 weeks, 20% tip. One fill visit is 75 x 1.20 = $90. A year has 52 weeks, so 52 / 3 = 17.3 fills x $90 = $1,560 a year, which is $130 a month or $30 a week. The first year adds the set with tip (200 x 1.20 = $240) to the 17 fills that fall in the 52 weeks after it (17 x $90 = $1,530): $1,770.
How it works
Cost of one visit = price x (1 + tip / 100). Fills per year = 52 / weeks between fills. Yearly cost = fills per year x cost of one fill visit. First-year cost = set with tip + the whole fills that fit in the 52 weeks after the set, which is the weeks-per-year divided by the interval, rounded up, minus one.
What this is not. It does not predict how often you need a fill. The American Academy of Ophthalmology says extensions typically last three to four weeks, falling off as your natural lashes shed, so a 2 to 4 week interval brackets most people; your salon decides what a fill needs. Removal, patch-test or lash-cleanser costs are not included.

FAQ
How much do lash extensions cost per year?
With a $75 fill every 3 weeks and a 20% tip it is about $1,560 a year after the first year, or $1,770 in the first year including a $200 set. Your number moves directly with your fill price and interval.
How often do lash extensions need a fill?
The American Academy of Ophthalmology says extensions typically last three to four weeks as your natural lashes shed. Many people book a fill every 2 to 4 weeks; your lash artist will tell you what is workable for your lashes.
Is a longer gap between fills cheaper?
Per year, yes: going from every 2 weeks to every 4 weeks halves the number of fills. But more extensions will have shed by the time you return, and a salon may charge a new-set price instead of a fill price.
What does a full set cost compared with a fill?
Healthline gives about $125 to $300 or more for a full set and $50 to $100 for a fill session. Prices vary by region and by the lash style.
Does this include the tip?
Yes. Enter the tip percent you usually leave and it is added to the set and every fill. Use 0 to see prices without tipping.
