Not medical advice. This is a budgeting tool. Unusually few or many wet diapers can be a health sign; ask your doctor or public health nurse if you are worried.

Worked example

$36 for 144 diapers is $0.25 each. At 8 a day that is $2.00 a day, $60.88 a month and $730.50 a year, with a pack lasting 18 days. A $30 pack of 144 would be $0.21 each and save about $10.15 a month.

How it works

Cost per diaper = (pack price + tax) / diapers in the pack. Per day = cost per diaper x diapers per day. A month is 365.25 / 12 = 30.44 days and a year is 365.25 days. The comparison runs the same maths on the second pack at the same diapers per day and shows which is cheaper per diaper and the saving per month and over the period.

Sources and basis: arithmetic on the numbers you enter. Prices and diaper counts are yours; nothing is looked up.
