How it is calculated
Fee = price × (percentage fee + any currency-conversion percentage) + fixed fee, rounded to the cent. You keep = price − fee. Price to charge for a target amount = (target + fixed fee) ÷ (1 − total percentage), rounded up to the cent and then checked so the net is never below the target.
Worked example: at 3.4% + €0.35 (domestic or eea sender (no international fee)), a €100.00 sale costs €3.75, so you keep €96.25. To receive exactly €100.00 you charge €103.88, which carries a €3.88 fee.
Rates used (retrieved October 2026)
- Domestic or EEA sender (no international fee): 3.4% + €0.35
- International, sender in the UK (+1.29%): 4.69% + €0.35
- International, all other markets (+1.99%): 5.39% + €0.35
- Currency conversion (3.00% above base exchange rate)

FAQ
What does PayPal charge in Ireland?
