Referral fee = the greater of (category % × total sales price) and the per-item minimum. Total sales price is the item price plus shipping and gift wrap the buyer pays, excluding tax. Most categories are 15% with a $0.30 minimum.

Rates are those printed on Amazon’s “Selling on Amazon fee schedule” when read on 18 October 2026. Amazon prints no effective date on that page, so re-check it before you rely on a figure for a pricing decision.
Method and limits
Formulas. Flat categories: fee = rate × total sales price. Price-tier categories (for example Beauty, Baby, Grocery, Clothing, Lawn Mowers) charge ONE rate on the whole price, set by the band the total falls in; a price exactly on a breakpoint (for example $10.00) takes the lower band. Marginal categories (Jewelry, Watches, Furniture, Compact Appliances, Electronics Accessories, Fine Art) charge each rate only on the slice of price inside its band. The result is the greater of that figure and the per-item minimum. Categories Amazon lists with no minimum (Fine Art, Gift Cards, Grocery, Media, consoles, video games) have none here.
Closing fee. $1.80 per item is added for Media, Video Game Consoles and Video Games and Gaming Accessories, as the schedule states. Refund line. If you refund a buyer, Amazon returns the referral fee less an administration fee, the lesser of $5.00 or 20% of the referral fee.

Is the referral fee charged on shipping?
Yes. Amazon calculates it on the total amount the buyer pays, including item price and any delivery or gift-wrapping charges, but excluding taxes calculated through Amazon tax calculation services.
Do tiered categories charge the higher rate on the whole price?

Which categories have no minimum referral fee?
Amazon’s schedule shows no per-item minimum for Fine Art, Gift Cards, Grocery and Gourmet, Media, Video Game Consoles, and Video Games and Gaming Accessories. Every other category in the table has a $0.30 minimum.
What do I get back if I refund an order?
Amazon refunds the referral fee you paid minus a refund administration fee, which is the lesser of $5.00 or 20% of the referral fee. On a $10.00 item at 15% the referral fee is $1.50 and the administration fee is $0.30.
