Formula: revenue kept = buyer-paid total / (1 + VAT rate) when you are VAT-registered, otherwise the full total. Profit = revenue kept - referral fee - FBA fulfilment fee - 1.5% fuel and logistics surcharge - storage - plan fee per unit - tax added on Amazon fees (if any) - your product, inbound and other costs.
Worked example from this tool: a 30 EUR item (VAT included) in Küche, packed 30 x 20 x 10 cm and 500 g, stored under the Central Europe Programme and priced outside the holiday-peak window. Referral fee 4,50 € (15% of the total price); FBA size tier Small parcel (up to 35 x 25 x 12 cm) at 3,15 € plus a 0,05 € surcharge; one month of storage 0,17 €; the Professional plan at 100 units a month adds 0,39 € a unit. After 4,79 € of VAT that you remit, fees come to 8,26 € on 25,21 € of revenue kept.
Referral fee basis: Amazon defines the total price as the amount the buyer pays for the item, delivery and gift wrap. Consumer prices in Germany include VAT, so the default base is the tax-inclusive price. On that 30 EUR Kitchen example the fee is 4,50 € on the gross price against 3,78 € if the ex-tax price were used, a gap of 0,72 € on every sale. The fee table and the FAQ block on the German page word this differently, which is why the switch exists.
Rates in the tool: the Individual plan is 0.99 EUR per item and the Professional plan 39 EUR a month, both excluding VAT. Most categories have a 0.30 EUR minimum referral fee; Books, Music, Software, Video Games, consoles and Grocery and Gourmet list none. Germany lists a Handmade category at 12%, which the Dutch table does not. Tiered categories are modelled as Amazon words them: Furniture is 15% up to 200, then 10% on the rest (35,00 € on a 250 EUR sale); Jewellery and Watches use 20% or 15% on the first 250 EUR and 5% above.
FBA lookup: fulfilment fees come from the Europe FBA rate card effective 1 July 2026, column CEP (DE/PL/CZ). The tool sorts your packed dimensions and weight into the card's size tiers (envelopes up to 33 x 23 x 6 cm, small parcel up to 35 x 25 x 12 cm, standard parcel up to 45 x 34 x 26 cm, then the oversize tiers), uses the higher of unit and dimensional weight for parcels and oversize items, and counts each started kilogram above the base weight on oversize tiers, because the card does not state a rounding rule. Selected categories (clothing, footwear, backpacks and handbags, mattresses and others the card lists) use the card's separate parcel table with a base fee for the first 100 g and a step per extra 100 g. For Germany the lookup offers the Central Europe Programme column and a Germany-only column, and the holiday-peak table (15 October 2026 to 14 January 2027) for non-clothing items. Low-price FBA rates are available as a checkbox: a 12 EUR item of 90 g packed 22 x 15 x 1.5 cm costs 1,83 € to fulfil under them. Special oversize items (over 31.5 kg or beyond the 126 kg dimensional weight) are not modelled; the tool says so instead of guessing. What it does not model: low-inventory-level fees, returns processing fees, inbound placement or removal fees.
Reference FBA fees, Germany (Central Europe column): five packed sizes through the lookup, before the 1.5% surcharge and before any holiday peak, set against the cheapest of the five euro stores in the same rate card.
| Packed size | Tier | Germany (Central Europe column) | Cheapest store |
|---|---|---|---|
| Envelope 20 x 15 x 1 cm, 20 g | Envelope (up to 33 x 23 x 2.5 cm) | 2,07 € | this store |
| Envelope 25 x 18 x 2 cm, 250 g | Envelope (up to 33 x 23 x 2.5 cm) | 2,42 € | this store |
| Small parcel 30 x 20 x 10 cm, 500 g | Small parcel (up to 35 x 25 x 12 cm) | 3,15 € | this store |
| Standard parcel 40 x 30 x 20 cm, 2 kg | Standard parcel (up to 45 x 34 x 26 cm) | 4,96 € | this store |
| Standard parcel 45 x 34 x 26 cm, 11 kg | Standard parcel (up to 45 x 34 x 26 cm) | 6,39 € | Italy 6,25 € |
Storage: monthly storage is charged per cubic metre on daily average volume: 27.54 EUR January to September and 52.20 EUR October to December for standard-size products, 19.99 and 29.23 EUR for clothing, eyewear, shoes and backpacks and handbags, and 21.78 and 34.49 EUR for oversize. The tool multiplies your packed volume by the rate and the months held, which suits steady stock; aged-inventory and storage-utilisation surcharges are not included.

FAQ
Is the Amazon.de Verkaufsgebühr calculated on the price with or without USt.?
Amazon.de's fee table defines the total price as the amount the buyer pays, covering the item price plus delivery and gift wrap. German consumer prices include 19% USt., so this tool's default base is the gross price. One FAQ block on the same page describes the fee as a percentage of the total price "ohne Steuern" (without taxes), which conflicts with the table. Use the ex-tax switch to see the difference and check one settlement report.
What is the Amazon.de minimum referral fee?
Most categories carry a minimum of 0.30 EUR per item. The fee charged is the higher of the percentage fee and the minimum. Books, Music, Video and DVD, Software, Video Games, Video Game Consoles and Grocery and Gourmet list no minimum on the page.
What changes for FBA in Germany during the holiday peak?
The rate card lists holiday-peak fulfilment fees from 15 October 2026 to 14 January 2027 for the United Kingdom, the Central Europe columns and Germany-only. Parcels cost roughly 0.20 to 0.45 EUR more per unit in that window and envelopes are unchanged; clothing, oversize and low-price items are excluded. Tick the peak box to apply it.
Why is there a Germany-only FBA column?
The rate card adds 0.26 EUR per unit when your German FBA stock is not enrolled in the Central Europe Programme that lets Amazon store it in Poland and the Czech Republic. The tool shows both columns through the stock-location selector.
Can I reclaim USt. on Amazon fees?
That depends on your registration and is not tax advice. Amazon quotes the plan fee as 0.99 EUR or 39 EUR excluding USt.; the "tax added on Amazon fees" field lets you model either case.
