What goes in the letter
IRCC says the letter of invitation, written and signed by your host child or grandchild, must show that the host meets or exceeds the minimum necessary income and must list the people in the family-size calculation, giving the name and date of birth of each person. The host's spouse or common-law partner can co-sign if they are a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or registered Indian. Other family members, such as siblings, cannot.
IRCC does not publish a letter template or an exact wording, so this checker does not supply one. It checks completeness only. Pair it with the income requirement calculator, which counts the family size the letter must list.
