Super visa income requirement calculator.

Find the minimum necessary income for your family size and test it the two ways IRCC now allows.

A family of 3 needs $46,720; a family of 4 needs $56,724 (IRCC table updated 29 July 2025). The host, with any co-signer, can meet it in either of the two tax years before applying, or reach 75% of it in the latest year and let the applicant's income cover the rest.

This is a different table from the one used to sponsor a parent for permanent residence (see the family sponsorship income calculator), which is LICO plus 30% across three tax years.

IRCC counts the applicants, the host, the host's spouse or common-law partner, dependent children of the host and spouse, earlier super visa holders under a still-valid invitation, and previously sponsored people whose undertaking is still in force. Acceptable proof is the CRA notice of assessment; if one is not available, IRCC lists a T4 or T1, 12 months of pay stubs, an employer letter, bank statements or other income proof.

IRCC revises the table, so check the live page before you apply.

Frequently asked questions

What is the super visa income requirement?

It depends on family size: $30,526 for 1, $38,002 for 2, $46,720 for 3, $56,724 for 4, $64,336 for 5, $72,560 for 6 and $80,784 for 7, plus $8,224 for each additional person (IRCC table updated 29 July 2025).

Can the applicant's income count?

Yes, under the second option: the host's total income (with any co-signer) in the year before applying must reach at least 75% of the minimum, and the applicant's income can cover the rest, so the combined amount meets the full minimum.

Which tax years count?

Under the first option, the host's total income, including any co-signer's, must meet the minimum in either of the two tax years before the application is submitted.

Is this the same as the parent sponsorship income test?

No. Sponsoring a parent for permanent residence uses LICO plus 30% over three tax years. The super visa uses its own table.
