Board game score sheet generator.
Choose the number of players and rounds and you get a score sheet you can fill in on screen, with running totals and ranks, or print blank as a paper score pad. Totals are plain sums, ties share a rank, and you can pick whether the low or the high total wins. An optional round-total check catches adding mistakes: in Hearts every hand hands out 26 points (13 hearts at 1 plus the queen of spades at 13), so a round that does not add to 26 is flagged. Example: a four-player Hearts game after four rounds totals 26, 26, 26, 26 points, which adds to 104 = 4 × 26.

How the totals, ranks and check are calculated
Each player's total is the sum of the numbers in their column. Empty cells and anything that is not a number count as zero, a comma is read as a decimal point, and negative scores work. Ranks follow the winning direction you choose: with the highest total winning, 1 is the largest sum; with the lowest winning, 1 is the smallest. Players on the same total share a rank and the next rank is skipped (two players tied for first are followed by third).
The round-total check is optional. When you enter a number, any round where every player has a score is added up and, if the sum differs from your number, the round is marked. That is a fixed-points check for games such as Hearts, where Pagat's rules give 1 point per heart and 13 for the queen of spades, so a hand always hands out 26.
Worked example with real numbers: four Hearts rounds
Four players play four rounds. Each round below adds to 26. Totals: Ana 26, Ben 26, Cy 26, Dee 26, which is 104, four rounds of 26. The lowest total wins, so Ana leads. Pagat's Hearts page says the game ends when a player reaches or goes over 100 points at the end of a hand, and the winner is the player with the lowest score at that point.
| Ana | Ben | Cy | Dee | Round sum | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Round 1 | 13 | 0 | 5 | 10 | 28 |
| Round 2 | 0 | 26 | 7 | 3 | 36 |
| Round 3 | 13 | 0 | 14 | 0 | 27 |
| Round 4 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 13 | 13 |
| Total | 26 | 26 | 26 | 26 | 104 |
Printing a blank pad
Leave the cells empty and press print: the sheet title, player name boxes and ruled round rows print on their own, without the rest of the page. Pick Letter or A4 and portrait or landscape first so the page size matches your printer. Name boxes print whatever you typed, so clear them if you want to write names by hand. Use landscape for six to eight players.
What this sheet leaves out
It adds and ranks; it does not know any game's scoring rules, bonuses or tie-breakers, and it does not save anything: close the page and the scores are gone, because nothing leaves your browser. Shooting the moon in Hearts changes a round to −26 for the shooter or +26 for each opponent, according to Pagat, so such a round will trip the check; turn the check off or ignore the flag for that round.
Common mix-ups
-
Often assumedIn a points game the player with the most points always wins.
What the source saysIn Hearts, the lowest score wins. The game ends when a player reaches or goes over 100 points, and the winner is the player with the lowest score at that point. [1]
-
Often assumedEvery hand of Hearts hands out the same total, so the round sums should always match.
What the source saysEach heart scores 1 and the queen of spades 13, so a normal hand totals 26. Shooting the moon changes that: the shooter drops by 26 or every other player gains 26. [1]

Frequently asked questions
How do I make a printable board game score sheet?
Set the players and rounds, optionally type a title and names, choose your paper size and press print. Only the sheet prints, with ruled cells to fill in by hand.
Can I use it for games where the lowest score wins?
Yes. Pick Lowest total under Who wins and the ranks flip, which suits Hearts and similar games. Ties share a rank.
What does the round total check do?
If you enter a number, every round in which all players have a score is added up, and a round that does not match is marked. It suits games with a fixed number of points per round, such as 26 in Hearts.
Why is a Hearts round flagged when someone shoots the moon?
Pagat says the shooter's score drops by 26 or every other player's rises by 26, so that round does not add to 26. The flag is correct, not an error in your sum.
Are my scores saved?
No. Everything stays in your browser and disappears when you close or reload the page, so print or copy the sheet before you leave.
How many players and rounds can the sheet hold?
Up to 8 players and 30 rounds. For a longer game, print two sheets or increase the rounds and print landscape.
