How to prepare a Discord emoji

  1. Type the emoji name. It needs at least two letters, numbers or underscores.
  2. Choose a JPEG, PNG, GIF or WebP file.
  3. Press Check Discord emoji to test the name, format and file size.
  4. For static artwork, download the 128 by 128 transparent WebP the tool creates.

Discord's limits

Discord says custom emoji files must be under 256 KB and can be JPEG, PNG, GIF or WebP. Names must be at least two characters and contain only letters, numbers and underscores. Emoji are recommended at up to 128 by 128 pixels, and normal messages display them at 32 by 32, which means simple bold shapes work far better than fine detail.

For static pictures this tool fits the whole image inside a transparent 128 pixel square and saves it as WebP. It does not keep animation in a GIF or animated WebP, build stickers, check your server's permissions or upload anything to Discord. Upload the finished file yourself in your server settings.

Your artwork stays on your device

The tool runs in your browser, inside an isolated frame on this page that has no network access. Your file is read and written back by your own device, so it is not uploaded to TNAADO or anyone else, and nothing is stored. The advertising on this page sits outside the frame and cannot see what you choose.

Frequently asked questions

Can this resize an animated Discord emoji?

No. It can report an animated GIF or WebP’s format, dimensions and file size, but the resizer is intentionally static and will not flatten or re-encode animation.

Does this upload to my Discord server?

No. It has no Discord login, token or API. The selected file stays in this browser tab.

Technical preflight only

Server permissions, content rules and Discord’s own upload result still apply. TNAADO is independent and is not affiliated with Discord.
