Worked example

A 1000 × 2100 image is 2.1 tall for every 1 wide, taller than 2:3 (1.5). At 1000 px wide a 2:3 Pin is 1500 px tall, so crop to 1000 × 1500. A 600 × 600 square is wider than 2:3; a 2:3 Pin at 600 px wide would be 900 px tall, or crop the square to 400 × 600.

How it works

Pinterest’s Business help article "Review ad specs" (opened 8 October 2026) says images are .PNG or .JPEG, up to 20 MB on desktop and 32 MB in-app, and: "We recommend using a 2:3 aspect ratio, or 1000 x 1500 pixels. Pins with an aspect ratio greater than 2:3 might get cut off in people’s feeds." This tool reads that as a Pin taller than 2:3 (more than 1.5 tall for each 1 wide); the page does not spell out the direction. The article describes image ad content; the same 2:3 size is the usual target for organic Pins, but this tool only confirms what that page states.
