What this estimate means
The CRA says it aims to issue a notice of assessment, with any refund, within 2 weeks for online filing, 12 weeks for a mailed paper return, and 16 weeks for a non-resident return. These targets apply to returns received on or before the due date and can be longer when a return needs review, information is missing, or a refund is applied to a government debt.
