Short answer: On October 26, 2026 the CBSA file stamped the Ambassador Bridge at 2026-10-26 18:15 EDT with no delay for travellers and no delay for commercial traffic, and the Windsor-Detroit tunnel and the Gordie Howe bridge also showed no delay. The live lookup below shows the current figure.

Three Windsor to Detroit rows in one file

The CBSA’s file lists three separate crossings between Windsor, ON and Detroit, MI: the Ambassador Bridge, the Windsor and Detroit Tunnel (the agency’s web page calls it the Windsor-Detroit Tunnel) and the Gordie Howe International Bridge. Each has its own row and its own last-updated stamp, so one can show a wait while another shows none. The lookup therefore puts the other two under your Ambassador Bridge result.

As with every row in the file, the figures are for traffic entering Canada. The U.S.-bound columns hold dashes. The CBSA also says its estimates do not include delays on the roads leading to a port of entry, and its wait times page links separate traffic pages for the Ambassador Bridge, the Gordie Howe bridge and the Detroit-Windsor Tunnel for conditions before the border. Those pages belong to other organizations, and I did not read them for this guide.

Worked example: Monday, October 26, 2026

The file read that evening stamped the Ambassador Bridge at 2026-10-26 18:15 EDT with no delay for travellers and no delay for commercial traffic. The tunnel, stamped 2026-10-26 18:15 EDT, showed no delay for travellers and no delay for commercial. The Gordie Howe bridge, stamped 2026-10-26 17:51 EDT, showed no delay for both. All three Windsor rows were therefore inside the CBSA’s targets of 10 minutes for travellers on a Monday from September to June and 45 minutes for commercial traffic.

Compare that with the national picture in the same file: of 30 crossings, 6 showed a traveller wait, led by 15 minutes at the Sault Ste. Marie. A clear reading is a snapshot, not a promise, because the CBSA aims to meet its standard 95% of the time for travellers and says conditions can change with events and enforcement actions. Use the live lookup for the current figure.

The CBSA’s targets

The CBSA’s service standards for fiscal 2026 to 2027 aim for travellers to reach the primary inspection booth within 10 minutes on weekdays from Monday to Thursday and 20 minutes from Friday to Sunday and on holidays between September and June, and within 20 minutes every day in July and August; the aim for commercial highway lanes is 45 minutes every day. The target is to meet each standard 95% of the time for travellers and 90% for commercial traffic, under normal conditions. The lookup compares the figure with the right target for the date you set.

Method

Your browser asks our server for the CBSA CSV, which sends no cross-origin permission of its own. The server fetches it, converts each row, finds the row named Ambassador Bridge, and caches the answer for five minutes. The tunnel and Gordie Howe rows are found by name in the same file. The request carries no input from you.

Frequently asked questions

How long is the wait at the Ambassador Bridge?

The CBSA file gives a current estimate for travellers and commercial traffic entering Canada. On the evening of October 26, 2026 it showed no delay for either; the live lookup above shows the current figure.

Does this show the wait to enter the United States?

No. The CBSA measures entry into Canada and its U.S.-bound columns are empty. U.S. Customs and Border Protection publishes the other direction.

What are the other Windsor to Detroit crossings in the file?

The Windsor and Detroit Tunnel and the Gordie Howe International Bridge each have their own row and last-updated stamp. The lookup shows both under the Ambassador Bridge result.

Is a No Delay reading a guarantee?

No. The CBSA says estimates vary with events, holiday visitors and enforcement actions, and that they exclude delays on the roads leading to the port of entry.

What wait does the CBSA aim for?

For travellers it aims for 10 minutes Monday to Thursday and 20 minutes Friday to Sunday and holidays from September to June, and 20 minutes in July and August. For commercial lanes it aims for 45 minutes.

How current is the reading?

Each row has its own stamp in local time, and our relay caches the file for five minutes. In the file I read, the Ambassador Bridge row was stamped 18:15 EDT on October 26, 2026.

Is the data free to reuse?

The CBSA publishes the file under the Open Government Licence - Canada. This page cites the source and republishes no personal data.

Unofficial tool: not run by the CBSA or any bridge operator

This page is not operated by the Canada Border Services Agency, the Ambassador Bridge, the Gordie Howe International Bridge or any government.
