How the Peace Bridge appears in the CBSA file
In the CBSA’s open-data file the crossing is a row named Peace Bridge, located at Fort Erie, ON/Buffalo, NY. The agency’s web page lists the same crossing as Fort Erie (Peace Bridge). It sits in a cluster of Niagara-region rows that the CBSA reports separately: the Queenston-Lewiston Bridge (travellers and commercial), the Rainbow Bridge (travellers only, with commercial marked Not Applicable) and the Peace Bridge, which carries both traveller and commercial figures. That is why the lookup shows the two neighbours under your result: if the Peace Bridge has a wait, comparing it with the other two is the quick way to see whether another crossing is clear.
The CBSA’s bridge wait figures cover the line to enter Canada. The file’s U.S.-bound columns are empty, so for a Buffalo-bound trip this page cannot help; U.S. Customs and Border Protection runs its own wait time site, which I did not check for Peace Bridge coverage. The agency also links the Peace Bridge’s own website from its wait times page for traffic conditions before the border, and the CBSA says its estimates do not include delays on the approach roads.

Worked example: Monday, October 26, 2026
The file read that evening stamped the Peace Bridge at 2026-10-26 19:00 EDT: 2 minutes for travellers and 16 minutes for commercial traffic. The Queenston-Lewiston Bridge, stamped 2026-10-26 19:00 EDT, showed 7 minutes for travellers and 5 minutes for commercial, and the Rainbow Bridge, stamped 2026-10-26 19:00 EDT, showed no delay for travellers with commercial marked not applicable.
Against the CBSA’s targets, a Monday outside July and August has a 10-minute traveller target and a 45-minute commercial target. The Peace Bridge’s 2 minutes for travellers was inside the first and its 16 minutes for commercial traffic was inside the second, with 29 minutes to spare. Had the same 2-minute reading come on a Friday in July, the target would have been 20 minutes. This is a snapshot; the live lookup shows the current estimate.
The CBSA’s targets
The CBSA’s service standards for fiscal 2026 to 2027 aim for travellers to reach the primary inspection booth within 10 minutes on weekdays from Monday to Thursday and 20 minutes from Friday to Sunday and on holidays between September and June, and within 20 minutes every day in July and August; the aim for commercial highway lanes is 45 minutes every day. The target is to meet each standard 95% of the time for travellers and 90% for commercial traffic, under normal conditions. The lookup compares the figure with the right target for the date you set.
Method
Your browser asks our server for the CBSA CSV, which has no cross-origin access of its own. The server fetches it, converts each row, finds the row whose name contains Peace Bridge, and caches the answer for five minutes. The two neighbouring rows are found by their names in the same file. Nothing you enter is sent to our servers other than the request for the feed, which carries no input.
What this does not cover
- Waits to enter the United States at Buffalo.
- Delays on the QEW or the roads leading to the bridge, which the CBSA excludes.
- Bridge tolls, hours or lane closures, which sit with the bridge operator.
- NEXUS lane waits, which are not a separate field in the file.
- What the wait will be when you arrive.
