COTO occupational therapist lookup.
The College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario publishes a List of Registered Occupational Therapists. This page links to it and works out the May 31 renewal date the College published. It does not search the register for you.
Short answer: Use the COTO register for the record. The College’s 2026 annual renewal required occupational therapists to renew or resign on or before May 31, 2026.
What the COTO says the register lets you do
The COTO’s page on finding an occupational therapist says its List of Registered Occupational Therapists lets you review any disciplinary actions, verify registration and view registration history. The page does not describe other fields.
From the COTO’s Annual Renewal 2026 page:
- All occupational therapists are required to renew or resign their registration online on or before May 31, 2026.
- A late fee of $113 is applied to renewals after May 31.
- If the deadline is missed, a notice is sent that the registration will be suspended for non-payment of fees, which applies if fees are not paid within 30 days of that notice.
The page is dated to the 2026 cycle. This guide assumes the same May 31 date in other years, so confirm the date and the fee on the COTO’s page for the year you care about.

Why you’d check an occupational therapist
People check the register for a private clinician before a funded assessment, for a name on a report that goes to an insurer or employer, or to confirm a home-visit provider. The COTO is the regulator whose list answers that.
Registration history and discipline
The COTO says its list covers disciplinary actions and registration history as well as current registration. That makes it more than a yes-or-no check: read the whole entry, and if anything looks unclear, ask the College.
Before you search
- Use the name exactly as printed on the report or letter, and consider an earlier name.
- Note the clinic and city to separate people with common names.
- If nothing comes back, try variants and contact the COTO.
How the calculator works
Enter a date and the calculator returns the next May 31 on or after it, the days remaining, and the previous May 31. It assumes May 31 every year because that is the date the College gave for 2026; it does not know about extensions or changes the College may announce.
What a register result can and cannot tell you
A register entry reflects what the regulator holds on the date you look. It does not rate quality of work, and it is not a recommendation. If something looks wrong or out of date, contact the regulator.

Guide only — not a verification tool
This page does not check anyone’s registration, does not copy or proxy the register, and nothing you might type here is transmitted anywhere. The renewal calculator is date arithmetic on the dates the regulator published; it cannot tell you whether anyone has renewed. This page is not affiliated with or endorsed by College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO). Use the official register linked above, and contact the regulator if you have a concern. Information was read from the regulator’s public pages in October 2026 and may change.
