CMTO Find an RMT lookup.
Is your Ontario massage therapist a Registered Massage Therapist? The College of Massage Therapists of Ontario regulates RMTs and offers a Find an RMT search. This page links you to it and explains how to use the result. It does not search for you.
Use the official register for the answer: CMTO’s Find an RMT register holds the record. This page is a guide only and cannot confirm anyone’s registration.
What CMTO regulates
CMTO describes itself as the regulator that oversees Registered Massage Therapists (RMTs) working in Ontario. Its home page links to the Find an RMT register, which is hosted on a CMTO-branded Thentia Cloud site (the address above is the College’s own link, not a third party).
What we can say about the register:
- The register is reached from the “Find an RMT” link on CMTO’s home page
- This guide does not summarise which fields it displays; open the register to see exactly what CMTO publishes about an RMT
We have deliberately not listed individual register fields for CMTO because we have not found a CMTO page that states them. Treat whatever the register displays as the College’s own statement.

Why you’d check a massage therapist’s registration
Common reasons: choosing an RMT for insurance claims, confirming the person treating you is registered, and checking a clinic’s therapist after a referral. Confirm with your benefits plan what it requires.
Before you search
- Have the full legal name as printed on a receipt, licence or letter, and any other name the person uses.
- Note the city or clinic, which can help separate people with common names.
- If the register returns nothing, try other spellings and ask the CMTO directly before drawing any conclusion.
What a register result can and cannot tell you
A register entry reflects what the College holds on the date you look. It does not rate quality of care, and it is not a recommendation. If something looks wrong or out of date, contact the College.
Frequently asked questions
How do I check if someone is an RMT in Ontario?
Use CMTO’s Find an RMT register, linked from CMTO’s home page and from this page.
What does RMT stand for?
Registered Massage Therapist, the title used for massage therapists regulated by CMTO.
Does this page tell me if my therapist is registered?
No. It does not search or store anything and cannot confirm registration. Use the CMTO register.
Will my insurer accept the register result?
That depends on your plan. Ask your insurer what proof of registration it requires.
Guide only — not a verification tool
This page does not check anyone’s registration, does not copy or proxy the CMTO register, and nothing you might type here is transmitted anywhere. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario. Use the official register linked above, and contact the College if you have a concern. Information was read from the College’s public pages in October 2026 and may change.
