That is ¥152,000 a month, 7.6% of sales. With 50% cost of goods and ¥100,000 of other costs, profit is ¥748,000.

What Rakuten Ichiba charges
Plan fees. Rakuten's "How it works" page lists the Direct Contract Basic Shop Open Plan with a registration fee of ¥60,000 and a monthly fixed fee of ¥65,000 on a one-year contract, with the monthly fee billed in two six-month instalments. It also lists up to 20,000 items.
Commission fees. The system fee is 2.0% to 4.0% of sales on PC and 2.5% to 4.5% on mobile, and Rakuten says it decreases as sales volume increases without publishing the tiers. That is why you type your own rate here, and the tool warns when it falls outside the published range for the channel you chose. On top of it Rakuten lists a Rakuten Super Points fee of 1% of monthly sales and a system enhancement fee of 0.1% of monthly sales, for both contract types.
Rakuten Super Affiliate. If you pay affiliates, Rakuten lists an incentive fee of 2% to 4% of affiliate sales, plus a system fee of 15% to 30% of that incentive. Enter the share of your sales that comes through affiliates to include it.
How the monthly figure is built. Total fees = sales × (system rate + 1% + 0.1%) + monthly fixed fee + registration fee ÷ months + affiliate fees. Profit = sales − total fees − cost of goods − other costs. Break-even sales = fixed costs ÷ (1 − variable cost share).
Worked examples
At ¥2,000,000 of monthly sales, a 3% system fee, 50% cost of goods and ¥100,000 of other costs the fee bill is ¥152,000 and profit is ¥748,000; break-even sales on those percentages (with no other costs) are about ¥152,506. A smaller shop at ¥500,000, a 4% system fee, 55% cost of goods and ¥50,000 other costs pays ¥95,500 in fees, which is 19.1% of sales, and makes ¥79,500: the fixed fee is why small shops feel Rakuten's cost most.
Limits of this calculator
It covers the direct-contract Basic Shop Open Plan only; the service-partner route has fees set by each partner. It does not add consumption tax, payment-method fees or shipping, and Rakuten does not state on that page whether the quoted amounts include tax. Enter shipping and packaging in other monthly costs. Confirm everything against your Rakuten contract.
