How the TCGplayer fees are worked out
Marketplace commission. TCGplayer's fees page lists 10.75% for a Marketplace Seller at Level 1 to 4, calculated on the order subtotal and capped at $75 per product sold. Pro non-Direct sellers pay 9.25% commission plus a 2.5% Pro fee, each capped at $75 per product.
Transaction fee. A variable and fixed fee on each transaction: 2.5% of the order total (items plus shipping plus tax) plus $0.30. A transaction is any number of items bought by the same buyer from the same seller at checkout using the same shipping method.
Per order, not per card. The $0.30 and the 2.5% apply once per transaction, so a larger order spreads the fixed fee. The $75 cap applies per product sold, which is why very expensive singles pay a lower effective rate.
Rounding. TCGplayer states it uses bankers rounding for fee calculations, so an individual line can differ from this tool by a cent.
Net payout, profit and effective rate. Net payout = sale total - TCGplayer fees (each line rounded to the cent). Profit = net payout - your item cost - your shipping cost. Effective fee rate = total fees / sale total.
