Removal and disposal fee schedule
Amazon calculates removal and disposal fees when the order is placed and charges them when the shipment leaves the fulfillment center. An order placed before January 15, 2026 keeps the old fee. The only change on January 15, 2026 was a cut for standard-size items weighing 0.5 lb or less, from $1.04 to $0.84 a unit.
| Size tier | Shipping weight | Fee per unit |
|---|---|---|
| Standard-size | 0 to 0.5 lb | $0.84 |
| Standard-size | 0.5+ to 1 lb | $1.53 |
| Standard-size | 1+ to 2 lb | $2.27 |
| Standard-size | More than 2 lb | $2.89 + $1.06 per lb above 2 lb |
| Large bulky, extra-large and special handling | 0 to 1 lb | $3.12 |
| Large bulky, extra-large and special handling | 1+ to 2 lb | $4.30 |
| Large bulky, extra-large and special handling | 2+ to 4 lb | $6.36 |
| Large bulky, extra-large and special handling | 4+ to 10 lb | $10.04 |
| Large bulky, extra-large and special handling | More than 10 lb | $14.32 + $1.06 per lb above 10 lb |
Amazon notes that large bulky and extra-large were previously called oversize, and that special handling items may include apparel, shoes, watches, jewelry and dangerous goods. The removal table does not list Small Bulky; this tool places it in the larger-item row because Amazon calls every tier other than small and large standard “oversize”. The removal page also does not say how a partial pound is counted; the tool rounds up to the next whole pound, the way Amazon’s per-pound fulfillment fees are described.
Liquidation is a separate process with a 15% referral fee on gross recovery value plus a processing fee, so it is not calculated here.

FAQ
Is a disposal order cheaper than a removal order?
No. Amazon publishes one per-unit fee schedule for removal and disposal orders.
When is the removal fee calculated?
When the order is placed. It is charged when the shipment leaves Amazon’s fulfillment centers.
Which weight does Amazon use?
The shipping weight, which is unit weight for small standard-size units and the greater of unit and dimensional weight for the larger tiers. The size-tier checker shows both.
Does this tool cover liquidation?
No. Liquidation has its own referral and processing fees and is outside this calculator.
