Paper size in pixels.
Pixel dimensions of A4, Letter and every ISO and North American paper size at the DPI you choose, with a bleed option.
Inputs
Pixels
Pick a paper size.
How many pixels is an A4 page?
A4 is 210 x 297 mm (ISO 216). Pixels depend on the resolution you choose: pixels = inches x DPI, and one inch is 25.4 mm. At 300 DPI A4 is 2480 x 3508 px, at 150 DPI it is 1240 x 1754 px and at 72 DPI it is 595 x 842 px. In CSS, one inch is defined as 96 px, so A4 is about 794 x 1123 CSS px. PDF and PostScript use points, 72 per inch, which is why A4 shows as about 595 x 842 pt.
The DPI figures you pick for printing, such as 150 or 300, are print-shop conventions rather than part of the paper standard. Ask your printer what they want.
Frequently asked questions
How many pixels is A4 at 300 DPI?
A4 is 2480 x 3508 pixels at 300 DPI (210 mm = 8.268 in x 300 = 2480; 297 mm = 11.693 in x 300 = 3508).
What is A4 in pixels for a screen or web page?
CSS defines 1 inch as 96 px, so A4 is about 794 x 1123 CSS pixels. That is a layout size, not a print resolution.
What is A4 in PDF points?
There are 72 points per inch, so A4 is 595.28 x 841.89 pt. Many tools round this to 595 x 842.
Does bleed change the pixel size?
Yes. Enter the bleed in millimetres and the tool adds it to every side before converting, so A4 with 3 mm bleed at 300 DPI is 2551 x 3579 px.
Is Letter the same as A4?
No. US Letter is 8.5 x 11 in (215.9 x 279.4 mm), wider and shorter than A4. See the A4 to Letter converter.

Scope
Sizes and results are arithmetic on published paper sizes and the numbers you enter. Printers and print shops set their own sizes, margins, bleed and resolution requirements, so confirm with yours before you print.
